The short version

The calculator runs entirely in your browser. The weights, karats and values you enter are never transmitted to our server and are never stored. We collect no accounts, no email addresses and no payment details, because the site has none of those things. What remains is ordinary web server logging and third-party advertising cookies, described below.

What we collect

Information you give us

Only what you type into the contact form: your name, your email address and your message. We use it to reply to you and for nothing else. We do not add you to a mailing list and we do not sell or share it.

Information collected automatically

Our hosting provider records standard server logs for security and troubleshooting: IP address, browser user agent, referring page, the pages requested and the time of the request. These logs are retained for a limited period and are not used to build a profile of you.

Information we never collect

The contents of any calculation. Weights, karats, item descriptions, spot price overrides and results are processed locally in your browser. Our server sees only a request for the current price and, when you change the chart range, a request for price history — neither carries anything about your items.

Cookies and similar technologies

We use cookies for two purposes:

• Necessary operation. Keeping the site working and secure.
• Advertising. Third-party advertising partners, including Google, use cookies to serve ads and measure their performance.

Advertising

This site displays advertising served by Google AdSense and its partners.

• Google, as a third-party vendor, uses cookies to serve ads on this site.
• Google's use of advertising cookies enables it and its partners to serve ads based on your visits to this and other sites.
• You can opt out of personalised advertising in Google Ads Settings.
• You can opt out of third-party vendor cookies for personalised advertising at aboutads.info or the NAI opt-out page.
• Third-party vendors set their own cookie policies, which we do not control.

Analytics

We may use a privacy-respecting analytics tool to count page views and understand which calculators get used. Any such tool is configured to record aggregate traffic patterns, not individual behaviour.

Your rights

Depending on where you live, you may have the right to request access to the personal information we hold about you, ask for it to be corrected or deleted, object to processing, or opt out of the sale or sharing of personal information. Because the only personal information we hold is contact form correspondence, most requests are simple to fulfil.

Residents of California (CCPA/CPRA) and the EEA and UK (GDPR) can exercise these rights by writing to us. We do not sell personal information as those laws define the term.

Children

This site is not directed at children under 13 and we do not knowingly collect information from them. If you believe a child has sent us personal information, contact us and we will delete it.

Data security

The site is served over HTTPS. Contact form submissions are validated and rate-limited. No method of transmission over the internet is perfectly secure, so please do not send sensitive information such as account numbers or identity documents through the contact form.

Changes to this policy

We may update this policy as the site changes or as the law requires. The revision date at the top always reflects the current version.
